Low energy precision application (LEPA) is a modification to the typical sprinkler configuration on center pivots or linear-move machines that minimizes evaporation and wind drift losses by running the water directly onto the soil surface at very low pressure. Because much less water is lost to wind drift and evaporation, and less of the soil surface is wetted there is less evaporation of water from the soil surface making it much more efficient.
